As a director of a promotional merchandise company in Bedfordshire I spend a lot of time in very long meetings helping my clients choose good products for giveaways at exhibitions, to put in with a mailer or indeed just to say thank you to their staff or clients. Dear Matthew,

I would like to thank you for your recent work to my shoulder. After years of putting up with an annoying pain in my shoulder, which was made worse by two weeks of painting ceilings, I knew I had to sort it out.

I was nervous about seeing someone medical, as, like most people, I do not go to a doctor often and like to think that everything is OK. Not using the National Health also can be daunting in terms of anticipated costs. You managed to put me at ease and make sure that I knew what the treatment would cost and, more importantly, what it would involve.

I appreciate that I will still have to revisit you after my working trips to France but it is comforting to know that I am well on the way to being relieved of pain.
